Analyzed the environmental and economic benefits of electric vehicles compared to the internal combustion engine and their charging infrastructure.
As a student intern at Watt Worker, a Global Online initiative, I focused on the intersection of environmental sustainability and economic efficiency in the automotive industry. My primary responsibilities included identifying the environmental and economic benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Using MATLAB Simulink, I analyzed EV charging infrastructure and battery performance, taking into account variables such as speed, motor type, battery capacity, and road conditions.
One of my key accomplishments during this internship was leading a capstone project with a team of five members. We compared the financial feasibility and total cost of ownership of ICE versus EV vehicles, incorporating comprehensive carbon emission calculations. This project provided valuable insights into the long-term economic and environmental impacts of transitioning to electric vehicles, reinforcing my commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
